Mad scientists comes up with mouth spray that gets you instantly drunk

Like to feel drunk, but hate drinking? We’ve got the gadget for you!

WA|HH Quantum Sensations

Not sure what spurred French-American scientist David Edwards to come up with the WA|HH Quantum Sensations, but one thing’s for sure – when it hits the market, I want it. In mass quantities.

Shut up and take my money meme

The WA|HH Quantum Sensations is a spray device that will get me, you, and anyone else bold enough to try it out automatically drunk once it’s sprayed in your mouth. The caveat, however, is that the drunk feeling will last for a few seconds and once it’s gone, the alcohol’s completely out of your system.

Phillip Starck designed the bottle itself. For whatever reason, they chose him to demonstrate how the can works in the picture here:

Tempting, right?

So how’s it actually work? It’s perfectly simple: with every “shot” taken from the aerosol can, the user gets 0.075 mililiters of alcohol. It’s not a lot when compared to the 40-60ml you get with your typical wine spritzer, but Edwards assures the drunkenly curious that the effects are instantaneous. You see, he explains, the spray is a perfect balance between the alcohol and the way in which it’s delivered (it pretty much goes for a quick before deciding shit’s too cold, and hops out of the pool).

So where and why would you use the WA|HH Quantum Sensations? A liquid lunch without anyone at work knowing. To relax when you get home. It’s also perfect for if you spot someone at the bar that you want to go up and talk to: quick spritz in the mouth, grow some liquor balls, and go over to introduce yourself. As soon as the conversation starts, the alcohol is out of your system, which means you don’t come off sounding like a drunken sailor.

Officially, the WA|HH Quantum Sensations is set to go on sale in Europe soon. When it does, it will retail for about $26. Unfortunately, there’s no set date on the North American release just yet.

If you’ve heard of David Edwards before it’s because he’s already made a name for himself by inventing other similar devices; that is, spray cans that deliver different tasting foods and drinks, like chocolate and coffee, without actually consuming them. The guy’s a regular, modern-day Willy Wonka!

I, for one, am hoping that his next project is a spray can for Red Bull. It’d be awesome to have them in the office when we’re up late and here on the weekends pumping out new ideas on how to make the best portable speaker on the market even better :-)
