Boombotix Releases the Chronic Edition

The Greenhouse effect

I’m happy to announce a limited edition Bot we’ve been working on since this morning over a bowl of cereal.  I would love to tell you what kind of cereal, but I totally don’t want us to get sued.  Let’s just call it ‘Raptain Runch’ and leave it at that.

Enter the Chronic Bot.  As you can see from the picture above, we spared no expense when it came to covering this gangsta head-to-teeth with the sticky-icky.  Other kids will be green with envy when they see you repin‘ your music with this lil‘ dude.

It has all of the bass-pumpin’, beat-thumpin sound you get from a BB2+ with a little Rastafari flavor.  You’ll get audiophile and style points at the same time, and even from the biggest haters you know.  All in time for 4.20; the one time of year that everyone is asked to take a deep breath and chill out.

THE RASTAFARI AND GREAT MOMENTS IN 4.20 HISTORY

Chronic_Showcase

We searched the annals of history to find you the most interesting facts about April 20th. We knew that you needed facts because there are just so many damn opinions these days1939 – Billie Holiday records the first civil rights song “Strange Fruit“.

1939 – Ted Williams’ 1st hit (off of Yankee Red Ruffing) a double
1971 – Barbra Streisand records, “We’ve Only Just Begun”
1986 – Michael Jordan sets NBA playoff record with 63 points in a game
The takeaway here is that nothing good has happened since 1986 on 4.20.  Let’s change that.

NOTABLE BIRTHDAYS

Luther Vandross

Luther Vandross

Not only has Luther Vandross been a sick back-up singer for David Bowie but he also wrote some of the sweetest early 80’s R&B hits.  Don’t believe me?  Listen to “Never Too Much” and you’ll lose your mind dancing.

George Takei

GeorgeTakei

We all know George Takei as the smart, disciplined Sulu, who captured our hearts and minds in Star Trek.  Not only is George Takei an awesome actor, but he’s also a human rights and gay rights activist.  What more can we say about someone that awesome?  Here’s a link to his Facebook page so you can fully bask in the wonder of George Takei.

Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra

Despite pop culture, Carmen Electra first stole my heart in Good Burger as Roxanne, not Lani McKenzie in Baywatch.  We all love her in Starsky & Hutch too, and I believe we would be remiss if we didn’t mention Carmen Electra’s Aerobic Striptease 5-Disc set exercise set.
