Red Bull Ride and Style 2013 Event Update

Red Bull Ride and Style

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- May 4th 2013, The Annual Red Bull Ride and Style will be held at Justin Herman plaza.  This has traditionally been an awesome event because it brings together awesome street artists for course design and some of the best riders in fixed gear biking.  Word on the street is that the course is full of treachery as some of the inspiration has been borrowed from X-Games Rallycross.  Jason Clary mentioned that he is going to be using a hybrid between a trick bike and a race bike to navigate his way through the course.

Anyhow, we’ll be out there supporting our favorite riders and chillin’ with the homies.  Roll out and enjoy a weekend shredding bikes with us.  Hit us up on Twitter or Instagram and don’t forget to bring your Boombot!

Justing Wyper Dirt Jumps with Boombot2 Wireless Speaker

imagine trail riding with this bike speaker and doing this

Justin Wyper is one of the premier leaders of the dirt jumping scene.  Last year at the AT Showdown held during the SF Bike Expo, we set Justin up with our Boombot2 wireless speaker for a couple runs on the course.  A lot of the riders were talking about how cool it was to use a speaker like this for trail riding and building.  Having a portable speaker that lets you get hear a lot of the things while riding are important.  A lot of times we gauge surface texture.  We listen to our cogs, our chain and our derailleur to understand our bikes.  The new bike handlebar mount should really free up riders to explore using our product in these more demanding situations and we’re excited to see it.  Big thanks to Justin for helping us get this footage on the GoPro.

R&D Update: Boombot Handlebar Mount Gets Revamped

A design evolution to make the ultimate bike speaker

A lot of people have been asking about the development of the bike mount.  We’ve seen all the ways people are fastening speakers to their bikes and we’re not satisfied or impressed.  Our first design was a little flimsy for trail/MTB applications, but this new bike speaker handlebar mount is all business.  Bar mounts are very tricky engineering challenges.  The amount of vibration put on components during a trail ride make material selection and design extremely tricky.  We teamed up with Alex Birch at Invisible Garage on this one, and the build is looking amazing.

Lowrider Soviet Sound Innovation

The Russian military may be stagnant, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t putting their steel to good use.  Boombotix Russia built this rig for their last tradeshow using the Jumbo Boombot and some creative welds to concoct a lowrider that will put most car audio systems to shame.  We were envisioning this guy rolling in the darkness with Ghostrider’s flaming skull emanating.  If you have your own idea of what you’d do with a Jumbo Boombot, let us know.  These bad boys are hitting the store soon and we are looking forward to driving spring sound to the #nextlevel.

the bike design

This lowrider takes has a hint of reverse tricycle engineering.  The front two wheels pivot allowing you to control your direction AND point your bass canon wherever you’d like.  The Soviet Soundbike includes a flag holder, a 3-speed internal hub, and a guaranty that you will get laid.
