The Greenhouse effect

I’m happy to announce a limited edition Bot we’ve been working on since this morning over a bowl of cereal.  I would love to tell you what kind of cereal, but I totally don’t want us to get sued.  Let’s just call it ‘Raptain Runch’ and leave it at that.

Boombot2+ Launches in Microsoft + T-Mobile Nationwide

Microsoft-Launch

Its one thing to hit up your homie at the local bike shop and get them to help you out with some retail placement. It’s another thing to land a national retailer for some shelf space. This winter we are launching the new Boombot2+ in our first real nationwide retail deals with T-Mobile and Microsoft retail. Last week we headed to the Microsoft store in San Francisco’s Westfield mall to check it out. We found a small shelf filled with only a select few wireless speakers including the Jawbone Jambox, JBL Charge, and the new Boombotix Boombot2+.  It was an honor and a momentous occasion worthy of popping champagne.

The challenge of getting our product on shelves is a great feat to rejoice. At the same time, we realize that our brand’s success depends on our ability to drive sell-through just as much as the sell-in.  The staff didn’t know anything about our product when we asked them. With a product like ours, staff can make all the difference in the engagement with consumers. How does one educate hundreds of staff across the country on a shoestring budget? We’ll find out.

Boombot2+

about the new boombot2+

The new Boombot2+ on the surface doesn’t look look particularly different from the original Boombot line. Pull up the connector covers at the rear and you will find the charging port now modified to a micro USB. When you fire up the new Boombot2+, you will hear the heartbeat of the speaker coming to life. When you pair up with your mobile device, the days of entering pin numbers is behind us; Simply tap on the device in your Bluetooth Setup menu and you should connect automatically.

The control interface on the new Boombot2+ is really similar to the Boombot REX. The center button now controls play/pause as well as answering phone calls. Press and hold the center button to access Siri/Voice control. Where the tweeter used to be on the small eye, we’ve replaced it with a microphone.

When you turn up the new Boombot2+, you’ll find that we’ve done some EQ work to completely eliminate distortion at the higher volumes. While the Boombot2+ doesn’t have a passive radiator, the single 50mm driver actually delivers a surprising amount of bass with uncompromising mids.

We’ve added three new colors to the lineup including BlackOut, WhiteOut, and the Limited Edition DelHiero Burlap. The Boombot2+ is currently available exclusively at Microsoft and T-Mobile and in most Boombotix authorized retailers by mid November.
