Riff Raff Infects the Nation

Who is Riff Raff?

Some know him as Riff Raff and others refer to him as JODYHiROLLER. For the past month, I’ve become fixated on his ability to leverage social media, SEO, and his weird ass antics to catapult him into stardom. Riff Raff isn’t just a one hit wonder. He’s built a brand with consistency, a loyal following, and he continues to innovate his media. I like to refer to him as a creative powerhouse. Nobody really knows where he came from. I couldn’t find any information about his childhood. He’s a hood phantom but we want to know more.

What is TRAP Music?

best described as 33% RAP, DUBSTEP, DUB and 1% hyphy sauce

Riff Raff

Everyone is talking about it but what is Trap music?  It isn’t really anything we haven’t heard.  I would say that Trap is just trying to put a new name on rap artists using an unconventionally high use of synth.  Rap is no stranger to bass, but the modulating bass we see in Dub and Future Bass is a bit fresh.  Trap is gangsta.  It’s repetitive.  It’s awesome and it is here to stay.

Urban Dictionary offers one strong definition of Trap music:

Trap music is based on use of the 808 Roland drum machine, pitched and re-sampled hiphop/rap vocals, pipe flutes, gangsta synth leads, and various FX. Similar to rap without the main vocal, Trap music has been gaining lots of attention from major DJ’s and labels. Although, the style originated many years ago, Trap music has recently been making a new school comeback in many new forms such as “Trap”, “Chirp”, “SeaPunk”, “PsyTrap”, and “TrapStep”. Earliest known examples can be found by artists such as Triple Six Mafia, UGK, Swisha House, and Gucci Mane. Tempos range widely from 135-175bpm which is uncommon for most major genres of electronic dance music (EDM).

This is what trap music is now

You know it’s hit the mass market when Lil’ Wayne and TI do a track claiming the TRAP music.  It’s ok.  Trap was trending so hard it had no where to go.  To be quite honest, Ball is actually a pretty sick song.  I heard it a 5:50am when I was moving the van for street cleaning and it not only awoke me… it made me feel… ballin’!?

Another fine example is one of Riff Raff’s recent pieces.

Riff Raff – Jose Canseco Video

White people are taking over hip-hop with one thug artist at a time.  First you got Kreayshawn bringing her swag to the table, and then comes along Riff Raff.  With his assortment of facial hair grooming and a proper ass grill, Riff Raff has solidified his name amongst the hottest in hip-hop.

The Jose Canseco video stays true with its low budget appeal.  You can literally go from the one-minute mark to the three-minute mark and you will probably not notice the difference.   The transitions from scene to scene are stock. You will lose brain cells by watching this video; But do it anyways and thank us later for it.
