WHAT IS A BOOMBOT?

Boombots are ultraportable speakers that work with any audio device. These speakers incorporate industrial design that makes them ideal for transport. The acoustic engineering produces surprisingly high power and efficient power to weight ratio. Boombots are self-powered rechargeable devices that incorporate a simple interface to be controlled directly or over Bluetooth. Some Boombots incorporate Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio transmission and teleconference capabilities.

WHO MAKES BOOMBOT SPEAKERS?

Boombotix speakers are engineered and designed by Boombotix at their headquarters in San Francisco. Boombotix has a team of audio engineers and designers that oversee the production and evolution of the product line. The speakers are assembled by hand in China by our own dedicated manufacturing facilities.

HOW CAN I USE A BOOMBOT?

Boombotix ultraportable speakers feature industrial design for life in motion. Bike riders clip them onto their handlebars, backpack straps and pockets. Other riders use the hip clip for fastening to belts, pockets and other garments. You can be pretty creative with how your wear your Boombot.

WILL A BOOMBOT WORK WITH MY DEVICE?

All BOOMBOTS are Bluetooth compatible. You can stream audio wirelessly with most smartphones, iPhones, tablets, and laptops. Be sure that your mobile device is Bluetooth enabled. The Boombot REX can also be played using a standard 1/8″ audio cable for wired playback. Other models are Bluetooth only.

HOW DO I CHARGE MY SPEAKER?

Boombotix products include a USB charging cable so that you can hook it up to your computer and charge it. Charging takes approximately one hour.

HOW LONG WILL A SINGLE BATTERY CHARGE LAST?

The simple answer is approximately 6 hours, however there is much more complexity to determine the exact runtime. Runtime on all Bluetooth audio devices is heavily dependent on several key variables: volume output, music selection, and ambient temperature. Manufacturers spec runtime with an approximation based on ideal conditions running at a volume level they determine as an approximate “normal” use.

Music with heavier bass/lower frequencies will require more power than music that is rich in the mid/high range. When speakers are over driven, you will notice decreased audio quality in a condition that is called “clipping.” Clipping will introduce additional inefficiencies in the system and reduce runtime further.

Lithium ion battery performance is very temperature dependent. In below freezing temperatures, a lithium ion battery capacity can drop by over fifty percent. On the contrary, temperatures under 120 degrees are not harmful to lithium ion batteries, but inefficiencies are introduced by semiconductor materials used in the amplifier circuit. We design our products to accept a wide range of temperatures, but there will always be a temperature dependency that can affect overall runtime in extreme conditions.

Volume output is the biggest factor in determining runtime. Runtime can be significantly increased at lower volume levels. Users should expect to see this type of behavior for a minimum of three-hundred charge cycles in ideal operating conditions.

CAN I PAIR WITH MULTIPLE SPEAKERS TO GET STEREO SOUND?

Our products do not currently offer stereo pairing. You may be able to use the auxiliary input on a Boombot REX to do a hardwired dual-speaker setup; however, we do not currently have a wireless dual speaker solution.
